2027 FCA SUMMER INTERNSHIP

Allegany County FCA is looking for 4 interns

(two male, two female) to serve the Lord

in local sports ministry for the summer


WHY

The primary goal of the FCA Internship experience is to develop the intern’s understanding of his/her individual calling to ministry. The internship acts as a way to develop leadership and provide a snapshot of what it looks like to be on FCA Staff.

 

WHO

College students looking to develop their understanding of their call to ministry through related training and experience.

 

WHAT

The FCA Summer internship will help you grow in your faith through leadership training and discipleship, step out in boldness through serving, and learn about the ministry of FCA.



WHEN

December 12, 2026: Application Deadline

December 14-23, 2026: Interviews and offers

January 5, 2027: Support-raising training 9am-4pm

January-May: Support-raising ongoing

May 17 - August 6: 12 Week Internship


KEY TIME COMMITMENTS FOR 2027 SUMMER INTERNSHIP (SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS)

January 5: Attend support-raising training 9 am-4 pm

January-May: raise $3,300 to support your internship (we will equip you for success on January 5)

May 17 - August 6: weekly collaboration days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00am-3:00pm with intern team and FCA Staff (except camp weeks)

May 17 - August 6: weekly individual work time between 6-10 hours to accomplish assigned tasks (except camp weeks)

May 19: Attend Maryland FCA All-Staff Summer Kickoff as a team, Location TBD

May 17 – June 3: Visit and lead (as an intern team) every Allegany County middle/high school huddle, one each (5 schools @7am; 2 schools @2:30pm)

May 28-31: *OVERNIGHT CAMP Attend Mid-Atlantic College Camp (MACC) as a camper

June 6th(2-4pm), June 15th (7-9pm) and July 11th (4-6pm): Attend and help lead 3 Power Camp Volunteer Trainings

June 25-July 1: *OVERNIGHT CAMP Attend Competitors Camp @ Liberty University and serve as a Huddle Leader (includes training days)

July 12-15: *DAY CAMP Attend Allegany County Power Camp and serve as a Huddle Leader Coordinator

July Dates TBD: Attend 1-2 local youth sports camps (hosted by high school teams) and share a message

July 30: *LOCAL POPUP CAMP Attend and serve

This internship was truly a life-changing and spiritually moving experience! During my experience I saw God show up in so many ways for me as well as the campers I got to lead! Seeing kids give their lives to Jesus was such a blessing! This opportunity helped me grow so much in leadership and spiritual maturity. I was blessed to work with an amazing team throughout the internship and truly made lifelong friends. I am beyond grateful for this experience, learning and growing alongside FCA staff. I am so blessed with the many memories this internship has granted me!

If I had to give one word to describe this summer internship it would be beautiful. Seeing how the Lord was moving and working at all the camps and events was so beautiful, from all the campers to the staff of FCA. This internship taught me more than just the behind the scenes work of FCA but taught me what it truly means to serve Christ as well as others, build strong relationships, and see Christ working in everyday life. This internship was a life-changing experience by seeing Christ work in and change so many students lives and I’m beyond grateful that Christ called me to this.

God called me away from my own plans and into my FCA internship in November of last year. God was clearly working throughout the internship, orchestrating relationships and events that helped me build countless connections to further the kingdom. My internship taught me the ins and outs of the ministry and what it is like to be a full-time missionary. I am so grateful that God called me to this mission and further revealed the call I have on my life as dedicated to him.

2024 and 2025

I’ve been a summer intern for two years now and at every camp I go to, God shows up in so many amazing ways than I could ever expect. I’ve got the opportunity to grow as a leader during this internship and have grown as a person too. I love the people I meet and bond with over the summer and the excitement of seeing them again. I love being an intern with FCA because it is truly an experience I would never trade for and will never forget!

The phrase “life-changing” gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never found it more true than during my internship with FCA. I came in not knowing what to expect, but this summer turned out to be one of the most impactful experiences of my life. I had the privilege of working with an incredible team that quickly became like family. Weekly worship and deep conversations brought a sense of renewal I didn’t realize I needed. Connecting with others through sports was not only fun but deeply meaningful. God taught me lessons I might never have grasped otherwise. I feel incredibly blessed that the Lord opened up this opportunity for me, and I will forever be grateful for the experience.

I entered this internship in hopes of helping others and leading them to Christ. I left not only doing this for others but also for myself. I had the opportunity to listen to testimonies of others and be able to learn from them. This gave me encouragement to pursue Christ even more than I was before. This internship allowed me to learn that it’s often possible to get wrapped up in the life around me but in everything I do, there’s an opportunity to serve a greater purpose in Christ. The people I encountered in this internship (staff, volunteers, campers, donors and families) have all made a lasting impact on me. I believe in the mission of FCA and loved this experience so much that I did it for two consecutive years.

Before I started the FCA internship, I knew that the Lord was stirring my heart to serve at a camp over the summer. Then at a basketball game, I was talking to Angie about this desire to work at camp and I learned about the internship. It checked all the boxes and gave me the opportunity to serve in my own community, which was very special and rewarding. 


Through this internship, the Lord showed me the importance of serving others, building relationships, and being intentional about showing His love. I loved sharing at huddles, meeting leaders, but best of all, serving at multiple camps. There is no greater joy than watching people hear about Jesus and what that could mean for them, all while getting to play the sport they love, be with friends, and enjoy the camp environment. Being with fellow believers and constantly being encouraged, lifted up, and prayed over is something that not many other internships offer. I would recommend this to anyone because it really does change your life!
